This is the place that will host our general announcement for our overall Canvas Network.
There will be three announcement types:

Urgent Announcement: "IMVU Accounts Breach Information" • 09/08/15

This is not a breach in Canvas, but a breach in IMVU itself. It affects accounts 2008 and older. A brief description from IMVU's Brett, via IMVU Forums:

"Two days ago a malicious hacker accessed some data on our service and I want to ensure our company keeps our customers informed about the situation and what we are doing to address it.

I’ll start by eliminating the big scary issue you read about with almost all data breaches… no payment information (e.g. credit card numbers), tax identification or other data usually associated with financial risk or identity theft was accessed as part of this breach. Additionally, IMVU credit balances, and product purchases are not impacted. "

Global Announcement: ”Removal of the Canvas Marketplace” • 10/06/15

At this time our Canvas Marketplace will only be available through our IMVU Group! Here’s our FAQ from our
original post, please contact LolliDuality if you have any questions regarding our new marketplace!

I’d like to start a shop in the new group, how does it work?
The CanvasInc account will be creating the threads. Right now, Pantone has a thread opened of her layouts, if you’d like to go to the group and see the thread up now. You’ll apply for a shop position and upon approval, a thread will be opened for hat you’ve named it.

Why are you no longer selling on the forums?
We’re preparing to take on a bigger genre of tutorials, we chose for the forum to be mainly focused on educational content, rather than sales.

How do you expect us to send/receive coding?
You can always send it through the IMVU forums messaging system, however, we are encouraging our users to be a member of both the IMVU group AND the forum, as our forum will start to act as a headquarters for EVERYTHING Canvas, not just tutorials. So, you can till send code through here. If all else fails, send through email!

Forum Announcement: ”Issue with new account activations!” • 12/22/15

Recently a setting was changed, in our internal forum system, that required new user accounts to be
activated by a Administrator of the forum. We have found this issue and it's since been resolved.
All user accounts waiting for any type of verification have been taken care of, as far as I can tell,
however, if you are one of the ones locked out of the forum, due to this issue, please contact

Pantone via private message on IMVU

& we can get your account activated. I apologize for this error and any inconvenience users might
of had. The setting being changed was not our intention!

Forum Announcement: ”Right-Click Disabled - Guests Only” • 7/29/16

Hai All~

Since the majority of Canvas's staff voted "yes" to blocking right-click on our forum but later decided it was inconvenient due to numerous reasons, I've looked around and found a new code that will block right-click for GUESTS ONLY!

Not only will this not affect any of our current members, but we're also hoping it will encourage our little lurker guests to sign up in order to not be restricted by this feature.

Forum Announcement: ”Temporary Tutorial Submission Closing” • 8/3/16

As we are heading into a different design phase, the tutorial section is next for revamp! At this time,
user-submitted tutorials are now closed and will re-open around September 1st, 2016.

We are styling every tutorial to be a streamlined and universal design to better fit your
needs, which means we need everything to match up and update - WHICH WILL TAKE TIME.

We are bringing written tutorials to the scene, in addition to updated tutorials, too!

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Tutorials may be moved around, as the staff complete each update. Things might vanish
or be re-named. At the end of the full update, a new directory will be installed to help you
find what you need.

Forum Announcement: ”Personal Emoticons" • 9/2/16

Thanks to Ange Tuteur from FM Design, we now have the option to upload our own Personal Emoticons!

These emoticons are exclusive to every member and cannot be seen by anyone else on the forum (beside staff members). They can only be seen by others when they are used in posts.

To upload your own personal emoticons simply follow these steps:

1. Click on "Profile"

2. Click within the "Personal Emoticons" textarea

3. In the pop-up UI do the following:

a. Paste an image URL into the input field. (A preview of your emoticon will display on the left)

b. Click the "+" button to add more emoticons. (This step is optional, but I imagine our members would like more than just 1 custom emoticon)

c. Click the "Update" button to update the textarea.

4. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes!

To make it easier for our members to find emoticons, Ange and a few members of FMDesign have come up with a list of websites that offer free emoticons you can add to your collection!

Urgent Announcement: "Forum Accounts Activated" • 10/17/16

There has been an error with our forum host, ForumMotion, regarding our activated user accounts. For the past couple of weeks users that are new to our forum have been able to activate their own accounts and our staff was just made aware of it this morning.

Our account activation require a correct IMVU Username and Matching ID for each forum account. In which, this ForumMotion bug breached our security system by a hair.

At this time, if your account has been activated, after the user "Legionhart", we will need to verify with you your IMVU Username and Matching ID number. This week, I will be reaching out to you directly via IMVU (if an ID number or Username can be found) or email to verify your account information.
